Distorted Reflection in an Antique Mirror.png

Through the Glass Darkly

Inspired by a short story I wrote in 2016, Through the Glass Darkly is a gothic supernatural novel exploring identity, self-perception, and the seductive power of illusion.

When Ava arrives at college, she hopes for a fresh start. Shy, self-conscious, and struggling to find her place among her more confident peers, she finds herself increasingly drawn to an antique mirror in her bedroom.

But the mirror doesn't always show her the truth.

Sometimes her reflection appears grotesquely distorted. Other times, it reveals a version of herself more beautiful than she ever imagined. And then there's the mysterious young man who seems to exist somewhere beyond the glass.

As Ava becomes increasingly fascinated by the mirror's secrets, the boundary between reality and illusion begins to blur. But what she discovers on the other side may cost her far more than she realizes.

Through the Glass Darkly is a contemporary gothic tale about the desire to become someone else—and the danger of losing yourself in the process.
